The Wish List Logo

GOOD DAY PUBLIC VIEWERS:

With the weather getting colder, we are pretty much set for the cold and its effects on the horses.  However looking to the near future I am putting together a HUGS wish list in hopes of getting items that will benefit the horses.

We have a count of 12 rescue horses at the moment.  The items can be purchased in amounts of multiple or singular. Any help would be a blessing.   I am quoting prices from Valley Vet Supplies:  FREE SHIPPING – 1-800-356-1005 for phone in orders – Catalog orders can be done online at www.valleyvet.com .  I chose Valley Vet because they seem to be the most cost efficient for medical supplies.   Feel free to use your own judgment in making purchases.  We will not turn down any gift or donation.

HORSES NAMES:

Easy ,  Popcorn,  Luna,  Claudia,  Ranger,  Shy Guy,   Mickey,  Scotty,  Bo,  Scout,  Aggie, and last, but not least  Biggie.

A Bit of Info on each horse:

Easy:  Is an 8 year old TB that came in to die. He has acquired a nerve disease. He is huge and full of love but his ability to stand worsens as the months go buy. At some point when he goes down it will be his last time and we will have to put him down.

Popcorn:  Our golden retriever is a QH out of Texas. He has serviced his former owners through multiple championships of cattle cutting and reigning.  Now pushing his mid 30’s he too has been put out to pasture.

Luna:  Another QH out of Texas facing the same ordeal. Age and Sight are against Luna. Although she makes a great trail riding companion to Popcorn when someone wants to walk down the road her days are numbered.

Claudia:  A 24 year old Warm blood did her duty in her youth as a champion dressage horse and then in later years as a brood mare.  She is not looking for a good home just for retirement and maybe a little light riding here and there.

Ranger:  Right now he is our in house Mustang.  A living legend that has made his path across the state of Texas now stabled in Michigan. Our goal is to get him adopted as soon as possible. He will make a great horse for the right rider.

Shy-Guy:  A frisky 6 year old Arabian. He is a hand full at times and at others he is a fuzzy teddy bear. Not yet broke to ride, but he has potential that will make him a winner in someone’s heart.

Mickey:  What can I say about Mickey!  Mickey, Mickey, you’re so fine you blow my mind. Our 25 year old Saddlebred is looking for a home where he can age gracefully.  For about 20 minutes he will give you the ride dreams are made of, after which he will resume his current status of being a lover boy.

Scotty:  He is young, big and full of life. This will be a great horse when he gets in his prime. At 3 years old he is already towering over the Warm blood.  I guess that has to be the draft in him.

Bo:  Oh Bo, I can’t begin to say what a delight he is. At this point we have no intention of adoption. He will retire with grace and live out his life with the love of our volunteers and family. After years in a show ring that is the least we can do for this grand guy that came in last summer.

Scout:  A Tennessee Walker about 16 to 18 years old. Beautiful chestnut with a winning personality. The problem is he needs a light rider or a home that is looking to retire him at an early age. He can be ridden but we find that when he is rode the wrong way he ends up lame for a few days. It’s in the hip folks not the legs.  But, if you take your time and don’t over do it he is awesome.

Aggie:  Aggie is a living picture of health that has defied death multiple times. I am going to sit down and write a book about her one day. She will steal your heart away from the first paragraph.  Aggie is not up for adoption but lives as a mascot for our organization.

Biggie: We saved him years ago from the auction block thinking he had a few years to live. Biggie had other plans. From 36 and the auction block to 47 and still going strong. This Appaloosa never ceases to surprise us. He has been our schooling horse, our fun horses, trail rides, horse shows, from barrels to a hunt seat jog he is in for the long run.  We want to wish BIGGIE a very special Merry Xmas for he deserves it all.

Ok there you are in a nut shell.  You know what you are sponsoring, donating to and why. I need your help to make sure these horses get everything they deserve.

We are also in need of a new outdoor riding arena.  The cost of lumber to build it runs into the thousands of dollars.  I am going to put a donation button here in hopes that over the winter small donations will come in to help cover the cost.  Without the arena we are limited to working the horses that need our attention.  I know its just boards but at this time those boards seem to cost an arm and a leg.   So please consider making a small monthly donation to help us get that new arena in the spring.  By Clicking on the mailbox you can make a monitorial donation for the fence.
